WHAT THEY DO

Art dealers purchase works of art so that they can sell them to other art lovers. Most art dealers own or work for galleries or have their own private offices where clients visit them. Their clients are generally fairly wealthy individuals interested in acquiring specific works for a private collection or as a financial investment. Sometimes, however, they simply want to decorate homes, offices, or other buildings with unique and beautiful art. Corporations and institutions such as cultural centers and museums also seek out art dealers, and many large companies collect, invest in, and exhibit art.
